My mid-week daydream reflection of the WWF

July 9, 2008 · 1 Comment

Its taking me a couple days to really look back on the kind of weekend we just spent in Sete. Here is a list of my personal high notes.

CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA

Little Dragon!

Roots Manuva to the rescue

Toshio Matsuura’s kimono

The mother fabulous bPm beach bombastic set

Marathon Man dropping Loose Joints “All over my face” at 1am sur la plage

CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA

The funky lil sunday flea market in the center of town

Henrik Schwartz deep house bounce on stage

Toshio Matsuura’s sunday school pin strip suit

The Hamley’s toy explosion on stage with Pascal Comelade

The blueberry lady at the beach party justifying the sand- dance floor

The  local bus drivers who waited for all the running passengers.

The Theatre de la mer! La Mer! La Mer!

CINEMATIC ORCHESTRA

Cinematic Orchestra live at the Theatre de La Mer

….but the biggest highlight of them all – hands high was the AUDIENCE. Never in my life have I felt such intimacy at large scale event. How can 4,000 people feel like 40?!?!  The camaraderie and open delight in the passing/sharing of this weekend’s sound expedition reaffirm to me once again that “GOOD music makes GOOD people come together.”   Big Love to Sete and the people of the WWF!
